dc.description.abstract | In this paper, a novel approach, called TCP-WO, is proposed to adaptively control congestion windows of wireless TCP connections. The key idea of TCP-WO is a window adaptation based on loss measurement. TCP-WO records the timeout and duplicated ACKs in an observing duration and the length of observing duration is an RTT. TCP-WO, improved from TCP-Reno, adjusts the multiplicative decrease algorithm based on a dynamic loss measurement, rather than a constant decrement. Simulation results show that in a congestion-free network with 10 % bit error rate (BER) of wireless channel, TCP-WO achieves throughput improvements of 160.2%, 331.8%, 31.9%, and 216.7% in comparison with TCP-Westwood, TCP-Jersey, TCP-Veno, and TCP-Reno, respectively. | |
