dc.description.abstractDuring the recent years, cooperative web proxy sever has been widely deployed and proved to be an effective way to reduce the bandwidth need, to alleviate the latency time and to reduce the server load. But little attention had been paid for the impact of cooperative proxy server scheme to the backbone router. Most papers and reports are commonly focus on hit ratio, efficiency of protocol and network bandwidth. To the best of my knowledge, there is no research report on impact of cooperative proxy server scheme to the router of backbone network. We construct an analytical model with parameters from traffic logs of regional network proxy server in this paper. From the analysis results, it reveals that the increasing packets owing to cooperative proxy server are significant to backbone router. As a result, we should take the impact of packets generated by cooperative proxy server scheme into consideration in planning and deploying cooperative proxy server system.
