Knowledge Representation Using Extended Fuzzy Petri Nets

Abstract

In this paper, we present an extended fuzzy Petri net model (EEPN) to model fuzzy IF-THEN rules and fuzzy IF-THEN-ELSE rules of rule-based systems, where the truth values of the propositions appearing in the rules are represented by vague values in [0,1]. The vague reasoning process of the rule-based systems also can be modeled by the extended fuzzy Petri nets. The proposed extended fuzzy Petri net model provide a useful way for modeling the fuzzy production rules and the vague reasoning process of rule-based systems.
